Make a Difference Day
As part of National Make a Difference day, Milford Junior High partnered with the City of Milford this past Saturday for a river clean up. Over 200 student, parent and teacher volunteers gathered to clean up the rivers edge area of Milford. This is the 9th year that the school has partnered with the city for the event. This year the event was part of a larger Problem Based Learning Unit that has been developed by teachers partnering with the High Aims Consortium of Southwest Ohio. The district was also recently awarded a $14,000 STEMS grant based on the unit developed by teachers. The grant money will go towards digital backpacks that will increase and improving river monitoring that takes place during the school day.

How awesome is that! 200 volunteers! I'm going to have to drive down by the river and check it out. Way to go!
